How to Make Wonder Whip, A Homemade Alternative to Miracle Whip! Noreen’s Kitchen
Greetings! Well here is a recipe I never thought I’d be showing. It is no secret that I do not enjoy the condiment Miracle Whip. It is also no secret that I have huge problems with artificial ingredients and Genetically Modified ingredients such as High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn and/or Soy bean oil etc. The brand name version of this condiment has all of the above.
I do have a recipe I want to share with you and it requires Miracle Whip or salad dressing spread. There really is no substitute for it in the recipe so off I went in search of how to make it on my own. There are seriously sparse instructions on the internet on how to replicate this particular dressing. Which I thought was surprising, because you can find a copy cat for just about anything. So I put my thinking cap on and got stuck into my kitchen and just had a couple of go’s at it. This is what I came up with.
According to Rick my version is actually better than the commercial brand. He made himself a hard cooked egg sandwich for breakfast using my Wonder Whip and he said it was excellent.
When you make it you are going to need an immersion blender. There really is no way to get around this. An immersion blender is going to get you the proper emusification and loft that you are going to want in the end product. This has the same texture and thickness of the original. It is a bit sweeter and tangier, but overall it is an excellent, homemade, all natural substitute that you can make in your own kitchen.
The other best advice I can give you is to make sure you let this sit in the fridge once you make it for at least an hour to get the flavors to mingle and get to know each other. This will make a huge difference when you finally taste it or put it on your favorite sandwich.
I hope you give this a try and I hope you love it!
